OUR LEADERS
Steve Maegdlin
As a seasoned senior executive with 30+ years of global experience at the CEO, CMO, COO, SVP, and VP levels—in large and small for-profit companies, large and small nonprofits, startups, and everything in between—Steve brings a broad range of experience across all aspects of successfully running an organization, including corporate and product strategy, sales, fundraising and marketing, finance, business process analysis, communications, operations, and technology implementation.
Devlin Donaldson
A non-profit executive and strategic advisor who has spent more than four decades helping faith-based organizations discover what they’re capable of — and then build toward it-Devlin's background spans marketing, brand development, major gifts, and strategic planning, with deep fluency in the rhythms and culture of Christian nonprofit ministry. He understands how donors think, how boards function, and how staff respond to change — and he knows how to align all three. His years at Compassion International and his tenure as Senior Vice President at Judson University gave him firsthand experience leading complex organizations through growth and transition.
Tim Finley
As a senior leader with 30+ years of experience as a CEO, Executive Director, CMO, Director of Donor Development, and Head of Growth Strategy, Tim drives results with insightful solutions based on up-to-the-minute data and innovative contextual communication platforms. He has served many leading nonprofit organizations in various verticals including faith-based education, cancer care, rescue missions, men’s ministry, pro-life, and healthcare.
When truth and context are irrelevant in the media, it becomes more irrelevant in our daily lives.
The media is how our culture shares. It greets us in the morning and it’s the last thing we see at night. The media is constantly with our children when they’re alone. Its voice and values have displaced ours as parents and grandparents. Media context is needed to help our teenagers and young adults to lead successful lives.
As our lifestyles move faster and faster, we turn to the media to meet some of our deepest needs. The need for relationships. The need for information. And the need to feel part of a community. Tragically, there is a voice that is seldom heard in the media. It is the authentic voice of truth and virtue.
When the truth is irrelevant in the media, it becomes more irrelevant in our daily lives. But if truth can be communicated with relevance and understanding, then the media can be raised to its highest purpose. This is both the hope and mission of Mars Hill Media.
Without question the media is the loudest voice in our culture.
It goes without saying that in the average American household mass media has become the primary transmitter of a largely uncensored, up-to-the-minute, post-modern world view. Parents, children and entire families are being held hostage by the all-consuming 24/7 onslaught of the media.
Without question, mass media is the loudest voice in our culture. The once well-defined lines between news and entertainment, fact and fiction, image and message, truth and lies have all become blurred. The values displayed in the media have passively become our own.
A new unicorn leadership model non-profits can afford.
Organizations need great leaders. This will never change. Whether it’s an NFL football team needing a great head coach, a business needing a new Chief Marketing Strategist, or a non-profit organization needing a new Executive Director. Organizations need great leaders to drive their growth strategy.
A new CSO, CMO, or CDO leader can propel a business or nonprofit organization forward for the next 3 to 5 years. Unfortunately, the reverse is also true. Not investing in great leadership can lead to stagnant growth for years to come.
Group1631 knows firsthand how leaders radically change the direction of organizations. Group1631 has a unique 3-for-1 leadership model. To learn more please reach out to Co-Founders Rick Wright at rick@group1631.com or Tim Finley at tim@group1631.com.
Leaders have enormous power to positively or negatively influence the people under their care.
Leaders have amazing influence to either inspire and move an organization forward, or stall it and take it backward. Leaders can crush the spirits of those around them or lift the morale of teams and individuals towards greatness.
Leader influence is critical to either the success or failure of an organization because great leadership always comes down to people – working with them, getting them to work together, and working through them to get results.
True leadership is concerned just as much with the internal realities of a person as the external realities. Great leaders understand that they create the culture for an organization, in part, by projecting their emotional makeup, ethical mindset, and unique leadership skills on it – for better or worse.
If your leadership team is in the midst of transition, Group1631 can step in to help right the ship as you build out a new team. To discuss how we work please contact Co-Founder Steve Maegdlin at steve@group1631.com.
